You can either click the Vote in the Celebrity list, next to the appropriate celebrity. Alternatively, you can click on Vote for this Celeb from a particular Celebrity's profile page.
Yes you do, but don't worry, it is free to register. You then become eligible to win the monthly prize (if you've voted in that month).
You can only lodge one set of votes per month. You may go back at any time and amend your Votes however they will only be counted once, and receive one Entry into the prize draw each month. But make sure you come back each month and get your votes in.
For a personality to be eligible, the celebrity must be a reasonably regular paid or employed presenter, panellist, actor, performer or reporter. FOr the original Australian Hottest list, the person needs to be on a television show produced in Australia. The celebrity must also be an Australian resident. However, programs don't have to be broadcast nationally. Celebrities who appear on regional programs are also eligible, and don't forget about the celebrities on Pay TV.
 
Celebrities who are not eligible are contestants of game shows (that includes reality programs such as Big Brother, Australia Idol etc.), Australian actors who star on internationally produced television shows, Australian actors in movies (eg. Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe) and International actors who appear on Australian produced shows. However, if they are international citizens but have taken up residency in Australia and meet all the other criteria they are eligible to be voted for.
 
Some discretion will be used by Pisces All Media from time to time. Shows that often have a rotating panel of presenters will be considered on a case by case basis. For example, players who join the panel on the Footy Shows are generally not eligible however there may be exceptions. For all other Hottest on TV lists not restricted to the Australian television industry, the rules are much looser but equivalent. The person must appear professionally in their genre or division at least "regularly" (3 or more times a year) or must be approved as a DEBUT celebrity - someone who is included purely because of their HEAT!
 
If a program is not on air at a particular time because it is out of season, the celebrities on that program will still be eligible, unless that program is off the air because it has been confirmed that it has been axed, or it has been confirmed that a particular celebrity will not be returning in the new season of that program.
 
Starting in the January sweep and for all months from then on, all monthly winners will have their celebrity biography updated with an entry such as "Voted Hottest on TV December 2006" each time they win. Also, new categories of celebrities that we see on free to air, pay or web TV will be added.
 
Celebrities will be added who are:
 
GOLDEN AGE
 
- they helped define TV in years past and although they have now passed on their icon status and the immortality of the video age means we keep them in the list. Example: Graham Kennedy.
 
TOON
 
Cartoon, animated and video game characters. who are human(oid) in appearance and who have a fan base based on their hotness... Example: Tomb Raider.
 
NEWSMAKERS
 
Not necessarily small screen stars, these people are on our televisions or talked about there all the time... So they need to be listed! Example: Paris Hilton.
 
INTERNATIONAL
 
They visit our shores or their show or phenomenon affects our local TV so they need to be listed. Example: MATTHEW FOX of LOST.
 
DEBUTANTE
 
These are breakout celebrities and maybe they will go the distance and maybe not, but we want to give them a chance. Example: Brodie Young.
 
New listings will reflect these titles in their descriptions where appropriate. Other new listings that fit the old criteria will just be listed as normal!

Well that's open to interpretation. Our interpretation is that you vote for who you think are the most appealing, attractive, sexiest, popular, charismatic celebrities on TV. Often the Hype surrounding the celebrity and their freshness adds to how HOT you think they might be. You vote on who you think who is the HOTTEST on TV. There's no right or wrong answer, but we'll find out at the end of each month who has been voted the HOTTEST on TV.
We use a unique voting system that tallies all the votes of the website members. We also have industry judges who lodge votes each month. These people are gossip columnists, TV journalists and other people in the Australian television industry.
 
Now here's the complicated bit. The industry judges votes will be multiplied by an amount that increases the value of their vote to equal the total value of the vote of the website members. The total number of votes lodged at any one time by an individual website member will total 55 (10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 = 55). So 1000 voters will submit a total of 55,000 votes. Ten industry judges will submit a total of 550 votes. We then multiply each of their votes by 100 (550 x 100 = 55,000) so that there is an even balance of power among the website members and the industry judges. So each month, the amount we multiply the industry judges votes by depends on how many website members have lodged votes.
 
Sounds fairly complicated, but we think this is the system that will give us the fairest and most credible result each month.
The first thing you need to check is whether or not that celebrity meets the eligibility criteria outlined above. If they do meet this criteria and you think we may have overlooked a celebrity, then please send us an email via the Contact page with the name, program and network that the celebrity appears on and we'll check if they should be added to the list of eligible celebrities.
Just come back to website at the start of each month to see who was voted the Hottest on TV. While you're back, you can lodge your vote for the next month and automatically go into the draw to win the monthly prize.
 
You may also be able to find out via some of the different media outlets in your city. You might want to check with the newspaper in your nearest city which day/s of the month they will be printing the results of the Hottest on TV Official Rankings.
